“The intervention involved upgrading the Cluj-Napoca sewage treatment plant to a capacity of 367,000 A.E.
The works substantially covered the entire water treatment plant, both with regard to the water line (with upgrades to pretreatment, primary sedimentation, oxidation compartment and final sedimentation) and with regard to the sludge line. For the latter, in particular, the intervention included the construction of 4 anaerobic digesters of 7,000 m3 each. The biogas produced is used for combined heat and power generation by two 310 kW cogeneration units.”
