“The project involved the upgrading and expansion of the Grottarossa drinking water plant to enable the exploitation for drinking water purposes of water taken from the Tiber River. The intervention made available a flow rate of 500 l/s, equal to the needs of more than 200,000 people. As part of the work, Giovanni Putignano & Figli installed 32 activated carbon pressure filters, grouped in 8 four-leaf clover sheets, each 3 m in diameter, with a total height of 4.85 m. A total of 583.3 m3 of activated carbon was supplied.”
