The purpose of this project was to ensure the drinking supply of the towns of Villaputzu, San Vito, Muravera, Villasimius, Castiadas and the tourist settlements along the east coast of Sardinia between Quirra and Villasimius, as well as the supply of irrigation users in the Muravera plain, through the use of water from the Flumendosa River.
Specifically, the lot awarded to Putignano included the construction of an intake at Arcu S’Arena, the consortium drinking water plant with a capacity of 43,200 m3/d, a potable water lifting plant and a storage tank.
