The project involved the design, construction and operation of the Psittalia sewage treatment plant serving the city of Athens. The capacity of the sewage treatment plant is 5,600,000 A.E., making it one of the gravest in Europe and the world. The special feature of this mega facility is that it is located entirely on an island within the Piraeus port area.
