Giovanni Putignano & Figli has operated plants for an overall capacity of more than 7 millions e.i. both in Italy and abroad.
Maintenance Global Service
A natural evolution of the operation contract is the organization with operation and maintenance global services of plants and structures, to improve their efficiency and optimize the operational costs. Currently Giovanni Putignano & Figli has been committed from 2007 to 2015 in a maintenance global service contract (acc. to UNI10685) of theWWTP IAS in Priolo Gargallo (Syracuse), with capacity of 750,000 e.i. (4,800 m3/h).
The social, productive and recreational activities require and use huge quantities of water. Direct consequence of such water use is the production of wastewater, which, in order to be returned back to the environment, shall be necessarily purified.
Giovanni Putignano & Figli, with forty-years long experience in this sector, is able to offer full support to Local Authorities in the identification and implementation of systems capable of purifying wastewater prior to discharge into receiving waters, observing the concentration limits values of the various substances required by the regulations.

Industrial Wastewater Treatment
The industrial wastewater can be characterized differently than civil wastewater, having a reduced range of contaminants, albeit with high concentrations.
The current technologies allow the purification of industrial wastewater targeted to its reuse in the manufacturing processes and / or to the extraction of substances that may be used in other fields of production (such as, for example, whey-proteins, which are extracted from the treatment of dairy whey and can be used in the cosmetics).
Giovanni Putignano & Figli collaborates with Public Authorities and private companies to develop specific treatment facilities for all types of industrial wastewater, to ensure the achievement of the objectives required by the customer, and above all the respect of the discharge limits.
Sewerage Systems and Water-works
The construction of sewer and water systems,especially in urbanized environments (presence of underground services and of facilities),requires specific experience, that Giovanni Putignano & Figli has gained in more than 35 years of Works in this sector.
From the feasibility study with analysis and survey of the existing infrastructures to construction, Giovanni Putignano & Figli can give a significant contribution to the planning and implementation of projects for new networks or revamping of existing systems.
Giovanni Putignano & Figli is also specialized in the design and construction of networks for the collection and treatment of rainwater by systems separated from the wastewater one.
The problem of the treatment and disposal of sludges from treatment of urban wastewater is becoming ever-important both nationally and internationally: in the European Community the ongoing implementation of the Directive 91/271/EEC, concerning the treatment of urban wastewater entails a constant increase in the quantities of sludge originated from purification processes.
Giovanni Putignano & Figli has specialized over the years in the design and construction of plants for the treatment of sludge, from stabilization to reduction of volume (dewatering), focusing the attention to the possibilities of sludge reuse.
